Things I Have Learned Working "In Hollywood"

1)If someone says they love you, they hate you.
2)If someone is said to be "a huge fan" of your work, you will never work for them.
3)If someone you know becomes "successful" you will not hear from them ever again. (Unless they want something of course.)
4)"It's nothing personal" means it's completely personal.
5)If you want to get rid of someone from your life and never hear from them again, just write a script and give it to them to read.
Words of wisdom, my friends. Words of wisdom.

Dust Jackets of Doom
I made dust jackets for my Arkham Lovecraft books- not so much because I didn't like what they had but just because I wanted to do them my own way. I chose to feature "The Mound" intead of The Horror from The Museum" because I think it's a much better, more important story, ranking right up there with HPL's best and it's got to be nearly 100% his even though it's billed as a "revision".

Fantastic Four Fulminations*

So here are some Jack Kirby related things- the first being an actual Kirby drawing done for my pal, Don Glut- which I inked and colored digitally, then a cover showing what it might have been like if Jack had introduced his New Gods series at Marvel - which I must say is kind of bogus since it's not done in Kirby's style (which was frankly too hard and too much work!)- but the idea is there, and finally some "what if" boxes showing what it might have looked like if Aurora had done FF model kits "back in the day"- boxes actually produced by David Vaughn at morbidmonster.com
* Also I must admit I don't know what "fulminations" means but it does start with "f"...

Addams Tributes Again

When I basically just steal someone's characters or images to do something of my own with them I call it a "tribute"... like these "tributes" here! One of which didn't have a caption until tonight and one just never made it past the idea stage. Which was Gomez and Morticia reacting with chagrin to their new neighbors, the Munsters. Tributes, folks, tributes!

PVS on FM

I did a wraparound cover painting of Forry Ackerman surrounded by his "favorite monsters" which will adorn the special ANNOTATED EDITION of FM #1, due out in July.
Here's a little bit of it! (The publisher, Phil Kim, basically asked for Forry and his faves and left the rest up to me. Hope FM and ForryFans find it to their liking.)

WANTED- More Readers Like Brian Yuzna!
Brian, back from his southeast asian sojourn, recently visited. We caught up on old and new times, he showed me cool stuff from his new epic film, AMPHIBIOUS (about a giant sea scorpion) and so on. Here he is, enjoying one of my Dark Horse MORBID books which everyone should rush out and buy (order from Dark Horse or Amazon with but a few simple painless clicks! Especially volume 2- Dead but not Out!)
End of pluggage!
