I am thrilled you ...Thanks for the response, Peter. I am thrilled you had so much of your heart into the project, as you have with many of your other projects from what I have seen. You're definitely not someone who does this just for the money (although it certainly helps, right?). ;) I keep forgetting this was a show with a limited budget, and with the ideas you guys had, it IS amazing what got made for television. I am really excited for the Blu Ray, which I'll support you by buying on day one, even if it ended up being the same DC edit. I'm also really interested in the Herzog version! I'm a fan of his films, big time! Ever seen Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call- New Orleans? Very underrated film. His Nosferatu is also great.Derricknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-271526267969703613.post-24960628816957666862011-10-10T22:49:47.168-07:002011-10-10T22:49:47.168-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Derrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11963417153100661416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-271526267969703613.post-24143534618145839732011-10-10T14:31:13.354-07:002011-10-10T14:31:13.354-07:00I said it just after watching the first episode an...I said it just after watching the first episode and i'll say it now: despite what Discovery "hack n' slash" Channel did to "Dinosaur Revolution", this is still the BEST dinosaur show ever made since WWD... Heck, DR's T.rex is probably my favorite restoration of the King so far, along with the JP one ;)Alessionoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-271526267969703613.post-80693887608018331962011-10-10T09:42:59.680-07:002011-10-10T09:42:59.680-07:00Hi Derrick,
These pics are unrelated to Dino Revo-...Hi Derrick,
These pics are unrelated to Dino Revo- and I have no info on what anyone is doing- We "storytellers" did our job and were pretty much dismissed from the loop a while ago. It's only because we take pride in what we did that we chime in here and there, at least that is true for me. I like the Watering Hole too. We did that when we were really cooking as a team and had a blast putting Al's story together. Some of the shorts came out really well too. Others, not as successful. We know this. We see the flaws you guys see. There was no time or money to fix anything after a certain point. CG was done simultaneously at differnet houses in different places and some excelled, some fell a little shot. We are happy we got as much great stuff as we did for the limited money. Stay tuned and I or somebody will be talking about news as to blu-ray etc. But I can tell that the feature version (involving some neat sounding stuff by Werner Herzog possibly introducint segements but NOT narrating) is proceeding apace.PVSnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-271526267969703613.post-47397462808275419492011-10-09T23:26:36.277-07:002011-10-09T23:26:36.277-07:00Wait, so this was from a "Dinosaur Revolution...Wait, so this was from a "Dinosaur Revolution" game that was once a possibility? How cool would that have been! Would have been an awesome tie-in. I'm still VERY much eagerly awaiting news on the Blu Ray of DR! Are we any closer? ;)

I also agree that the dinosaurs in the show had amazing designs, and breathtaking color and detail. While I also like the new "Planet Dinosaur" from the BBC, that show feels far too cold and not very engaging. The difference here were the stories that you guys told with your dinosaurs. While "The Watering Hole" was by far my favorite episode of the series (the life of the Allosaur was so interesting the way you told it, especially with his broken jaw incident), I also REALLY liked Episode 3. I felt it had the most amusing and visually awesome stories, although it seems like some were hacked up a bit for the broadcast. Hope to see them fleshed out a bit more in the "final product".

I can't get over this show. :)Derricknoreply@blogger.com
